Automation Test Analysts work in the IT sector and specialise in developing database quality control processes for software and systems. Automation testing in Quality Assurance refers to using another piece of software to run tests on the software that is being developed. For example, in the case of security testing, the individual would automate a test against a network device to look for vulnerabilities that a hacker could exploit.

The average base salary for a Test Analyst in Australia is anywhere from $76,000 – $95,000. This figure will be dependent on the location of the role and the level of experience. A Test Analyst will have a degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar field.

The roles and responsibilities of an Automation Tester include creating test plans, configuring STEs, the automation and application of designs, managing changes within a system, providing solutions, and creating, enhancing, debugging and running test cases.
